Vintage Cute STEIFF Mohair Plush PEGGY PENGUIN - 1960's - no ID - 10 cm tall (4 inches) - glass eyes - tiny bald spot back of head
This lovely little penguin is PEGGY PENGUIN in the 10 cm size (4 inches). Her EAN is either #4310,07 dating her to between 1959 to 1967 OR EAN #2500/10 dating her to between 1968 to 1972, but I think she is earlier rather than later due to having glass eyes.
Peggy is made from short black, white (more ecru now), & grey mohair with yellow highlights, and she has a red-orange stuffed felt beak, little fat grey-beige felt feet, & GLASS brown eyes. She has a tiny bald spot on the back of her head (see last photo). Otherwise she is in good clean pre-owned vintage condition with no fading, only minor aging of the white mohair to ecru, & no soiling. Sadly, she is missing her chest tag and her ear (wing) button.
Peggy would be a great addition to your vintage Steiff collection or would make a wonderful gift for a collector.
