What does a high school band director do with an old baritone saxophone which no longer plays?

He turns it over to his music boosters group and it becomes a unique and functional piece of art.

Now you have the opportunity to buy this wonderful piece either for yourself or to give to the music lover in your life who has everything else.

Yes, it is a real baritone saxophone, complete with many dings and scratches -- all from being used for many years by students in the high school band at Jerome, Idaho. Yes, the lamp really does work. A music student and his family re-purposed an old lamp with the instrument. It has a new electrical cord and the shade was covered with a musical score.

Funds raised go back toward helping the students in the Jerome High School choir and marching band programs go to Disneyland where they will get to march in Disney Parade, perform at the concert stand, and record in a professional sound studio. So not only are you getting an item that you and your family and friends will delight in for years to come, but you are helping students discover what it's like to be a performing artist and have an experience they will never forget.

This piece is just over 5 feet tall and is 12 inches at the base.

If the winning bidder lives in the southern Idaho area, local delivery is possible.
