eBay

This auction is for a 1979 American sailboat complete with multiple sails, mast/boom and rigging, gear and trailer. The trailer shown is included in the sale.   We are listing this boat for a third party and are representing it in completely as-is condition at a no reserve price.  Please read the add and view the pictures carefully as this boat will be sold to the high bidder at auctions end. We have included 188 large pictures below the add to show you as much detail as possible as well as a description of condition.  Our description of condition is based on a brief and casual inspection and is only to help you decide its value.  You are welcome to inspect the boat in person if you wish to do so.  It is located in Old Saybrook Ct, 06475 and is available anytime by appointment.

We looked the boat over and found the decks to be solid but the non skid is worn.  The hull looks original but the upper deck was brush painted many years ago.  There are many cracks and previous repairs that could use attention (see pictures). The companionway door is rotted and will need to be replaced.  The cabin is large for a small boat and is wired for dual batteries which are not included.  We did not hook up power to inspect the operation of anything.  The v-berth cushions are intact but all the aft cabin and bench cushions are missing and not included.  The cranking mechanism to raise and lower the keel looks intact.  The boat is rigged for outboard power and includes a fuel tank and fuel line but no outboard. The rudder looks complete but in poor condition.  We did not install it with the tiller to inspect operation.  There is a bunch of wire rigging for the stays and lifelines included along with shackles and pins.  We did not inventory it to be sure its all there but it was well organized in the boat when we picked it up.  There are three sailbags and I believe four sails.  One sail is ripped but the others look good and useable.  One sail is new and looks like it has never been used at all.  We took extensive pictures of each sail along with the hardware included so please review. There looks to be a Harken furling drum assembly, sail cover as well as battens in one of the bags as well.  The previous owner last used the boat a few seasons ago and said everything needed to sail is there.  There is also an anchor, bucket of anchor rode, life jackets and life ring included.

The trailer is included and in good condition.  The bearings, frame and springs seam to be sound.  The tires are newer but the one has light dry-rot starting to develop (see pics).  We towed the boat about 25 miles and had no issues.  We are not sure if the lights work but they are there and look to be intact.

We have the transferable registration from Connecticut in hand and ready to transfer.  There is no paperwork on the trailer.  The previous owner never had any and has no way of getting it.  Please do not bid if the trailer having no paperwork is a problem for you.  The boat will need to be paid for in full and picked up within one week of auction ending unless you have made other arrangements with us.  We are available to deliver it anywhere for $2.50 per hauled mile if needed.  Please feel free to contact us by e-mail or call (860)510-2623 with any questions. Please only bid if you have the funds ready as this is a no reserve auction. We have no transaction fee so high bid wins and that's what you pay. The auction ends at 9pm EST on Thursday evening. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
