Up for sale is this is the Omega Speedmaster with original box, warranty card, instruction book, and bag with extra links (note the bag with the links matches the name of the jeweler who sold the watch). I got it at a storage auction. The storage unit belonged to the man named on the warranty card. He passed away last fall which explains why he didn't pay his storage bill. You can see some of my current and past auctions for more of his watch, clock and calculator collection. He was born in 1950 so he got this watch when he was eighteen. I never met the original owner so I don't know the complete history. If you examine all the photos you will see it is in very good condition with a tight bracelet. It looks like it was rarely worn. This is in keeping with the other watches and clocks I found in this storage. Most were in their original packaging and had never been worn.

I took this watch to the local Omega dealer so he could open it and I could take a picture of the movement. He was unable to open it and speculated that is hadn't been opened in 48 years. I then took it to the service center in Culver City and they were able to open it and they replaced the gasket. The original gasket will be included in this auction. I have not done anything else to the watch. I have not cleaned it or had it serviced. I do not know if it has ever been serviced. I have wound the watch and it keeps time but I assume it needs to be cleaned and serviced.
