This auction is for a fully built, tested and calibrated RepRap Prusa Mendel 3D printer.

With this printer I'm also offering setup training and install of software when you collect, we will print some things and get you familiar with the machine so when you get it home you can start printing straight away.

It took a long time to build and calibrate this machine and it's really built with love and attention to detail - it was never built to sell, it was made to be my primary show-piece machine and a real work-horse, it's printed hundreds of things and performed really well.

This RepRap 3D printer has been used for the last 6 months, and has printed all sorts of 3D objects, most of the things on my Blog (RichRap) have been printed on this machine, Construction of this printer is the most visited page on my Blog.
It has many custom added parts and features not found on other machines.

Why am I selling it?

I love to make 3D printers, and I want to make some more, so for one thing I need the space. I didn't want to break it down for spare parts as that seemed such a waste after I spent so long making it.
This is a great machine and would be perfect for anyone thinking about getting into 3D printing, as a hobby or to make prototypes or more 3D printers!

The spec - RepRap Prusa Mendel *Bling*
  • Prusa Mendel frame and PLA plastic parts in Gold
  • It has 2.5mm pitch belts with full metal pulleys on the motors for a very smooth and accurate drive mechanism.
  • The frame and  all the cables is covered in Black Nylon braid, to look nice and give a complete machine look.
  • It has an Aluminium frame to aid with stability and provides a Filament holder so printing is much easier.
  • The Aluminium Frame also holds all the electronics (in a nice Case) and a Quality 550W ATX power supply, with ON/OFF switch in east reach
  • All the outputs have LED indicators and are labelled so you can see what is heating and when.
  • Natural ABS X carriage and ABS Extruder for better heat resistance.
  • LM8UU Linear Bearings on all axis for a very smooth, quiet and long life machine.
  • RAMPS Electronics V1.2 fitted in a ABS case with cable glands for all cables in and out.
  • The electronics and wires are labelled inside and are all neat and tidy with heatshrink and cable ties
  • All the end-stops have LED's fitted along with electrical noise filtering and screened cables.
  • It has Stainless steel Z rods and 4 x rod stabilisers to give a really smooth vertical lift. 
  • 4 x Pololu stepper motor drivers.
  • Prusa PCB Heated bed with Extra Polyfuse for safety
  • My own design of Hot-end heating block for fast printing.
  • The Extruder is a Greg/Wade style design with a 3mm 'Hot-end' and a 0.5mm nozzle.
  • Cooling fan for the electronics and for the extruder 'cold-end'.
  • It also comes with a micro SD card reader so you can print without needing a computer attached all the time - very handy! 
  • I will provide some filament (Plastic)
  • And I will include a 2GB micro SD card, USB lead and Power cable - you will have everything you need to run this 3D printer.

This is collect only from me - in Gloucestershire (UK), I want to give you setup advice and help when you come to collect, I highly recommend doing this, you will learn a lot and I can also help setup the software on a Laptop for you if you bring one along.
