eBay
I have for sale a rather nice '89 Eunos Roadster 1.6, first a little background:

I've been owning MX5's for 16 years, I started with MK1 1.6's, had a '99 MK2 1.8 for 4 years and then in 2012 tried a MK3 2.0, I really didn't like it at all and instead decided to find the best MK1 I could as I'm not alone in thinking it's still the best of the lot. This took two months of looking at quite a few rusty/tatty ones until I found this car. It was bought from the Treasurer of the MX5 Owners Club and was so rust-free, original and unmolested I knew it was the one I'd been looking for, even though I didn't really want a red one.
The reason I'm now selling is that I now have two MX5 MK1's on the drive (it's addictive), I recently wanted to try a MK1 1.8 as I'd never owned one, a really mint one came up for sale and I bought it, so my much-loved 'return to MK1's' car is now for sale. This actual car has been pictured/featured in a some of the guides I have written on the MX5 forums, including dashcam fitting and the rust-proofing.
For clarity; The pictures of the car are enormous so have a zoom in, they were all taken yesterday (24th April) except the alignment and underbody/rustproofing pictures which were taken last year.

Details:

Manufactured on the 1st December 1989, so 25 years old this year. This is the 114bhp 1.6 'short nose crank' engine, (no issues with pulley wobble).
139,342 Kilometres, which is 86,531 miles. Full MOT history proves the mileage. There's also a large ring binder with the car's service history and receipts.
Full cavity and underbody Dinitrol rust treatment last August with pics, the job took two days and 5 litres of Dinitrol were used. Totally rust-free, NEVER WELDED, no filler, all original and in mint condition.
The car is almost totally standard apart from IL Motorsports front and rear lower braces underneath (not shown in pics), the original 7 spoke 'Daisy' alloys are available if required, although the 'Hollow-spokes' the car has now are genuine Mazda wheels and are lighter and wider than Daisies.

The car had a mega-service in February last year when I first got it (plus another oil and filter change a month ago), this included all oils replaced including synthetic Gearbox and rear axle oil, 5W30 Synthetic engine oil used, all filters used are genuine Mazda, new plugs, HT leads, auxiliary belts, genuine rocker cover gasket, genuine 88C thermostat, coolant, new radiator cap. Receipts for everything are in the history folder. The cambelt was replaced at 104K (64,000 miles).
Four-wheel laser alignment last year with print-out (expensive) using my own preferred set-up, car handles and drives perfectly and is as straight as a die.
Soundproofed, a lot of care has been taken to sort out interior rattles which has made a big difference, there's soundproofing pads inside the doors, around the speakers, foam pads and strips behind most of the trim/glove box and I used a 'Tones CD' to find every last squeak. Car is now very quiet inside compared to most other MK1's.
Good original style hood with no rips or tears, watertight. Good tyres. Car is insured with classic insurance which is very cheap (£110 fully comp).

Original engine which doesn't smoke, rattle, get hot or use oil. Starts instantly and settles to a smooth idle, once warmed these engines are super-tough and love revs, the car pulls really well and is much faster than any standard 25-year-old 1.6 car has any right to be, sounds great as well. Spotlessly clean engine bay.

HPI clear with certificate, MOT February 2015, short tax.

Spec:
Private dateless plate (worth a few hundred pounds) included with the car.
JDM offset front numberplate.
Electric windows (lubed and working properly), PAS, Air-con. Italian air horns, modern MP3 Sony stereo with Pioneer speakers and headrest speakers.
Thatcham Cat 2 immobiliser with two keys and installation certificate.
'Fog light mod', the fog light is a red 21 Watt bulb in the offside reversing light.
Hardtop fitting kit.
Aero wipers.
Uprated headlights (original sealed beams available if required).
Even the mirrors move! A common fault on early cars is they seize in position, when you try and move them a bolt inside snaps and the mirror falls off.
Chrome vent rings and gearknob which are removable if required.
MK2 passenger seat belt clip, the height of luxury, stops the passenger belt rattling about over bumps.

Known faults:
Air-con was working fine all last summer but the compressor's clutch is now intermittent, system is charged and not leaking, I have a known good compressor to go on which comes with the car, just needs fitting, it is possible to swap just the clutch part over I'm told.
A couple of small blemishes in the paint as you might expect with a car of this age, no large dents/scratches or repairs though, paint is largely original and very shiny.
Some marks in the interior, also small and as you might expect. Seats are a little faded.

You might think the car expensive compared to others for sale, there are reasons for this. You'll spend a long time looking for another car so early and in such great rust-free condition, (I know, I've done it) it's also very sorted with alignment, maintenance, rust-proofing, soundproofing, cleanliness and attention to detail which most other MK1's for sale simply won't have, a lot of hours have been put in and it's been a labour of love.
Finally because it's such an early car from the first months of production and in Classic Red (the colour the very first cars were) this car is a guaranteed future classic which will hold it's value and appreciate if kept in it's current excellent condition.

The MK1 is now starting to appreciate in value, it's the 25th anniversary of the MX5 this year and this early car is now a true classic, and an appreciating asset.

Please see unblemished feedback of 950+ over eleven years, the car is as described. Please call and we can arrange a viewing/test drive.
