Offered for sale is the rarely seen Sony APM-77 speakers. These amazing top of the line speakers sold for $3000 in the early 1980's. The speakers are in superb shape for their age and are fully functioning with all drivers working. As you can see the foam surrounds on the woofers have decayed. The foam surrounds are available here on eBay, I had planned to do the easy refoam but other projects got in the way. The woofers on these speakers are incredible. They have 4 voicecoils per woofer. They are extremely linear and only need the foam surrounds for a good seal acoustic seal. They function without issues even without the foam surrounds. They are efficient at 90 db, have a frequency response of 28-30khz and play loud if demanded. Fast, deep, detailed, and musical they really do it all. Really the only cosmetic issues some raised veneer from plant watering on the top of one speaker that is hard to notice and some scratches and a few bumps marks but overall very nice. These speakers are very heavy at 60 pounds each. I will take great care in packing them. I have many years experience packing high end audio as my feedback will attest.
