eBay
1972 G15 - Reluctantly offered for sale due to other commitments, lack of time and all the usual excuses. This is the 5th Ginetta I have owned in 20 years, so I am as you may gather a bit of an enthusiast. The car is very straight and useable as is. The car was a museum exhibit for a number of years until I bought it and taken out from time to time by its previous owner who always kept it garaged. I have suggested a few minor small jobs to make it even more enjoyable to drive. G15s make unusual classic cars, with outstanding handling coupled with surprising performance and economy. There is a very active owners club and hill climb / sprint championship which I participated in during 2007 in another Ginetta (highly recommended). There is space enough for a 6ft driver with ease. I am 5ft 11 and don't have the seat right back.

G15 Spec.

Upgraded to 998 by previous owner with single weber carb on Derrington manifold with alternator. The engine is very sweet with excellent oil pressure.

The car has I am told been back to Ginetta at some point for various upgrades, and is fitted with a very useful removable chassis member at the rear which makes engine removal ridiculously easy.

  • Large bore exhaust – sounds great
  • Rear road going roll cage
  • Aluminium fuel tank
  • Electronic ignition
  • Electric fuel pump (SU which I would replace if keeping the car)
  • Sunroof
  • Revolution wheels with excellent tyres
  • Original seats have backs locked for competition use (drivers with headrest and three point full harness) – upholstery good
  • Rear seat squabs in matching upholstery!
  • Period Smiths heated rear window accessory and 8 track player
  • Excellent chassis
  • Bodywork and paintwork in good order except a small area below the nearside rear window which needs a bit of minor fettling.
  • Rear Boot section is fitted with detachable lighting socket and has pins in the hinges so is easily removed for even better engine access.
  • Front early works type spoiler rather like the early Alison Davis and Barry Wood cars - this could be removed without any difficulty if required.
  • New donuts just fitted
  • New Battery
  • Recent MOT
  • Historic road tax (which of course is free)
  • Nice original interior with all original instruments working
  • Refurbished brakes / seals / cylinders
  • Clutch plate has lots of use left in it (engine recently removed to inspect).

Number plate 13 NRO shown on car not included in sale. The actual car registration is EAW 932L - plates will be supplied with the car on sale.

To do

Fit foot well carpets (not supplied)

Brakes could do with a set of braided hoses to improve feel. Available from people like Ginetta Heritage and many other suppliers for about £60 per set.

SU fuel pump is a bit temperamental and should be replaced with a Facet for about £30

Door window frames could do with rub down and repaint but are presentable as they are.

The car needs a good clean up and someone to make use of it.
