Copeland Parian Naked Figure of Ondine c1897 by J.J.Pradier.

Fabulous Copeland Parian figure of “Ondine” or “The River Allegory.”

The figure stands 9.25 inches (23.5cms) high, is of exquisite fine quality, with superb detail, and excellent modelling.

Ondine is portrayed as a naked maiden, water lily leaves in her hair, sitting on an over- turned water jar. In her hand, she is holding a mirror, the other hand resting under her chin and peeping from the reeds by her feet is a little frog!

The figure is impressed COPELAND D 97

The figure is in excellent condition and is without cracks, firing flaws, hair lines, restoration or repair. She does have one very minor flea sized flat chip underneath the base

This is Copeland at its very best.
