Antique 19thc Robinson & Leadbeater Parian
Figure of Morning Dew (attributed to Pradier) c1875. Robinson and Leadbeater (working Period
1865-1924) specializing in Parian Really lovely R&L Parian figure of Morning
Dew standing 13.5 inches high on a base 4.5 inches across. The
figure portrays a naked maiden, with long flowing hair holding a ewer; she
floats above a grassy mound from which emerges foliage. Fabulous modelling, with crisp very fine
detail; the Parian is of the very highest quality, smooth tactile and creamy. The
condition is good but does have a small loss to her flowing tresses and the left arm has been
broken across the elbow and re glued back in place. (see photo) Although unmarked is almost certainly Robinson
and Leadbeater as a similar figure can be seen in The R&L catalogue; early
R&L Parian was rarely marked. This is Robinson and Leadbeater at its very best! A
stunning, top quality, Parian figure beautifully executed, and in spite of the small
loss to the flowing locks and damaged arm it displays very well indeed. Overseas buyers pay pal only please. ~~~~~~~~ |
