Himalayan Gau Locket The pictured silver gau pendant was hand crafted in Nepal using 92.5 sterling silver and beautiful turquoise stones with pieces of Himalayan red coral. Gaus (or Ghaus), are 'hidden box' lockets that were traditionally worn by Tibetan Buddhist pilgrims and used to carry an image of Buddha, prayers, or Tibetan medicine. The backside of this gau box shows the Tibetan Buddhist symbol of double vajra, symbolizing the principle of absolute stability. This particular piece is a truly fantastic work of sterling silver art from the old days. A beautiful and unique Himalayan treasure brought to you with Aloha from Hither and Yon.
