I don't know what type of lace this is, possibly Point de Gaze but I am uncertain. This antique, hand made lace lappet or scarf-like collar measures approximately 40 inches long total length, 3-1/4 inches at the widest tapering to 1-3/8" at the narrowest part at the back of the neck. The workmanship is incredible and this piece likely took many, many hours to complete. The color is a soft off white, not brilliant white but not ecru. I have not laundered it and it may not have been laundered in a long time. It has no odors.

Condition: There are small holes in the netting and a separation at the center back which I believe is on a seam. Please enlarge and study the photos for the details. The lappet appears to have been made in several sections that were skillfully pieced together so it becomes difficult to see exactly where one section ends and the next begins. Some possible light yellowing but not very much. Overall very beautiful and very fine work.
