Artist Information

Jenő Kéméndy was a costume designer and stage designer, scientist and painter. His father was a clerk. Jenő Kéméndy's artistic abilities have been manifested in his childhood. He studied at the Mintarajiskola in Budapest, and from 1879 in Munich he became a mature painter at Gyula Benczúr and Rudolf Seit. He spent more than a decade in the Bavarian capital. In addition to fine works of art, he had smaller theatrical works. His first appearance was made in Budapest in 1881. In 1887 he studied historical painting in Paris . It was issued in Munich in 1888. His paintings were mostly judged by stage scenes, genre images , and his own abilities. He has sold a lot of pictures, he has acquired a lot of money already at a young age. He was on a cycling tour in Great Britain . His technical interest was soon revealed, he invented several inventions, photographed. He realized that he would have a factory in America , but instead set up a small bicycle tire in Germany , but it went bankrupt. At that time Baron Nopcsa Elek was called. In 1895, he became the probationary supervisor of state theaters ( Opera House , National Theater ) in addition to Ágoston Spannraft . Three years later, he was finalized at his own request, and until his death he was now heavily guided and planned as a Superintendent. She also studied the scenic solutions of foreign companies in Hungary (eg Max Reinhardt ). The most significant works of Miklós Bánffy's intent on the fine art were created. Sándor Hevesi has worked with a fruitful working relationship. You have been a worthy successor to Gusztáv Oláh's last years. He received a gold medal for his plans for Shakespeare and Molière pieces at the 1900 Paris World Expo . In 1923 he became the heiress of the Opera House. He had been active at the turn of the century, and he was still in the foreground of the staging issues in Europe, and he worked on unremitting innovations (eg a hovercraft for the Rhine treasure ), making the audience astounded with the utmost exploitation of the Opera. From 1916 he was also screened as a screenplay ( Queen of Saba , A walkür ). His early decorative and costume designs demonstrated the influence of meiningenism , later combining realism and painting, and in some of their elements the effect of secession also manifests itself. Your costume designs are even higher than your costume designs. Due to the age of theater practice, its designer work can not be precisely measured. He worked with Ujváry Ignác , Heves. Some of his pictures are in the collection of the Hungarian National Gallery.
