Antique
Wire Wrapped English Bone Lace Bobbin
Circa
1850 * by David Haskins
This
classic bone lace bobbin is a nice example of the work of David Haskins
(see pp. 37-39 of Christine & David Springett's Success
to the Lace Pillow*).
The shank
is carved with spots and bands that still retain some of their original
coloring. It is wrapped with 5 sections of brass wire (original).
It's in
excellent condition with no chips,
cracks or other damage. The spangle has antique handmade glass beads
and it measures 5" long.
*This
item is made of bone from a cow and not from an endangered
species.
