For your consideration is this set of six 8" Royal Doulton Hand Painted Side Plates. Theses plates, made in England, feature a scene of Oliver Twist sitting under a tree as Artful Dodger stands near him facing his general direction. It looks to be evening as there is a sunset portrayed, along with an image of possibly a boat in the distance. Each of these plates are hand painted so there are slight variances to each piece, making the set all the more valuable and interesting. Engraved under each of the hand painted characters are their names; texture is used to add to the pieces by having the characters and the tree slightly raised. On the bottom is a lion and crown marking along with "Royal Doulton" and "Made in England." Under the main marking is "Rego in Australia D6833."
