Rega RB300 Tonearm with RB700 cables!

The RB300 is now officially out of production, replaced by the RB303. Gone is the RB300's massive, stainless steel base replaced with a lighter, cheaper 3-point plastic base; yes plastic! The proven bias slider has been replaced with a more resonant-prone plastic plunger. The changes seem to be cost-cutting measures yet the RB303 sells for much more ($595.00) than the RB300.

The classic RB300 offers an infinitely more rigid mount and affords easy addition of variable VTA adjusters from a variety of sources including J.A. Michell.

I am now offering Rega RB300 arms that are factory wired with the Rega RB700's improved cables and non-magnetic, metal RCA plugs at a cost significantly lower than the RB303! The sound improvement is significant enough that you don't really have to re-wire this arm to get really good sound reproduction.

These arms are badged by Rega with a J.A. Michell logo.

Other thoughts: Currently there is no easy way to install a simple, variable VTA adjuster on the new RB303. The only way to adjust VTA is to turn off your system, unplug the leads from your pre-amp, undo the 3 screws and nuts, pull the cable through the arm board, install Rega circular shim(s) and then reassemble everything and turn the system on again. In some cases the turntable must be partially disassembled to get to the nuts underneath. This might have to be done numerous times until you get it right and you have to have lots of shims on hand. Why mess with shims and screws and tearing apart your sytem just to adjust VTA? Buy this original classic RB300 tonearm with improved cables instead and use a Michell VTA adjuster.

When used with optional J.A. Michell VTA adjuster and Finger Nut, VTA can be adjusted in seconds instead of minutes ALL WITHOUT TOOLS! You can return to your listening position in moments without having disturbed your turntable or other components.

If you want the ultimate in structural modifications and improved performance, consider adding a Michell TecnoWeight low profile, underslung counterweight with built in tracking force adjustment. It makes a big sonic improvement and gives you a way to adjust tracking force precisely without the use of an expensve stylus scale. (The Tecnoweight is standard on Michell's flagship TecnoArm tonearm.)

The RB300 tonearm in this listing comes complete with instructions, mounting template and phono cartridge alignment protractor. Unlike other Rega OEM arms which are packed in non-standard packing (bubble wrap, newspaper etc, this one comes in a proper, standard Rega foam box protected by a corrugated carton.

If you want an inexpensive, proven tonearm design with latest technology cables and RCA plugs, this is it!

BONUS: You will receive a tiny hex wrench to allow adjustment of the cueing device height. This eliminates the hassle of trying to locate this hard to find wrench should you need to make adjustments.
