  • Wedge Shape Direct On-Axis "Wedge Angle"
    The baffle (front) panel of each cabinet is optimally angled in toward the listener. This serves to widen and improve the stereo image by radiating sound away from room boundaries and at an angle to opposing boundaries.  This also helps reduce the harsh effects of excessive reflections and standing waves in the room.  Direct on-axis radiation toward the listener provides pin-point imaging and detail. Also, nonparallel panels in the cabinet reduce internal standing wave vibrations.

    All D+S cabinets have one-inch radius rounded front edges to help smooth out high frequency ripple caused by sharp edge diffraction.

    The drivers in all D+S speakers are premium quality components and are flush mounted with a precision routed inset to help eliminate edge diffraction.

  • Flared Port Computer Tuned Flared Venting
    Bass is greatly extended to achieve that deep realism we crave.  Computer controlled microphones are used to tune the port for optimal flatness.  The bass of all our speakers is never muddy or "boom-boxy".  Also, we use flared ends on the port to elimate wind noise and smooth out the bass pressure wave.

  • 14-Gauge Oxygen-Free Pure Copper Wiring
    We use only the finest heavy gauge OFC wiring in all our speakers.

  • Biamp Terminals Biampable Gold-Plated Binding Post Terminals
    D+S speakers accept dual or separate banana plugs, pin or spade connectors, or twisted bare wire up to four-gauge thick.  By removing the short coupling wires, the woofers may be powered separately from the midranges and tweeters (biamping).

  • Solid MDF Construction
    All D+S cabinets are built from heavy one-inch thick non-resonant MDF, not cheap 3/4" particle board.  Custom cut "Glue Block" bracing is applied to the full length of all internal joints and seams.  Plus our multi-woofer and subwoofer cabinets employ shelf bracing between each woofer to further reduce vibration.  A stiffer cabinet could only be made from poured concrete!

 Advanced Computer-Optimized Crossovers: 
      The goal of the loudspeaker designer is to extract the optimum performance from each driver while blending all drivers to achieve a flat frequency response and a stable, linear phase and impedance of the system.  Not only are a driver's frequency response and impedance determined by its construction and materials but they are also greatly affected by its "environment".  The internal volume of the enclosure, the shape and dimensions of a tuned port (if any), the amount of insulation, the mounting of the drivers, the shape and dimensions of the cabinet baffle, the shape and dimensions of the driver's frame, the location and orientation of the drivers on the baffle, the thickness and resonant properties of the cabinet, etc., are all environmental conditions affecting overall response and performance.  And this doesn't even include all the room acoustics.  The list goes on ...

      There are too many variables affecting the overall response of the system to mathematically predict end results from theoretical data.  There is only one way to account for ALL variables and that is to measure the frequency response (SPL) and impedance of each driver section when they are installed in their final environment, then blend the sections together using advanced computer optimizing software.  The "final environment" should even include appropriate placement of the speaker in the intended listening room, but we can't quite get that close to each customer on a production basis.  So we settle for anechoic measurements.

Five Year Warranty
     D+S Tech Labs Incorporated (D+S) warrants all new merchandise to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and conditions for a period of five (5) years from date of original purchase.  Should service be necessary under this warranty for any reason due to manufacturing defect or malfunction during the first five (5) years from date of original purchase, D+S will repair or replace, at its descretion, the defective merchandise at no charge, however, the customer is responsible for initial and return shipping and delivery.  This warranty does not extend to drive units, cabinet finish, grill or other cabinet accessories damaged by incidental or malicious neglect, nor does it extend to voice-coil burnout or other indications of operation under other than specified conditions.  Cabinet entry by other than authorized D+S engineers will void this warranty.  This warranty is valid only for the original purchaser and is not extended to owners of the merchandise subsequent to the original purchaser.  Any applicable implied warranties are limited in duration to a period of the express warranty as provided herein beginning with the date of original purchase at retail, and no warranties, whether express or implied, shall apply to this product thereafter.  Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties, therefore these exclusions may not apply to you.  This warranty gives you specific legal rights, however you may have other rights that vary from state to state.
