MEDIUM: oil on canvas

CONDITION: in great shape - no damages to canvas. Original components from the period - Frame has some wear around the edges due to age. Plein air frame included.

REF: Early California Impressionist, Titled - A NOVEMBER DAY. Harvey Coleman was born in New York and moved to Chicago with his family. At the turn of the century he moved to Los Angeles (he would have been around 16 years old when he moved to Los Angeles). Coleman exhibited his paintings in the 1930s while working as a photoengraver for the local L.A. newspapers. Husband of Mary Darter Coleman. Exhibited: California State Fair (1930), Hollywood Library (1935), Fort Worth Texas Artists Exhibition (1926-28). Listed: Hughes-Artists in California 1786-1940, Davenport Art Reference, Who Was Who In American Art, Dawdy, Moure. Signed lower left, "Harvey B. Coleman". Titled, "A November Day". Authenticity is guaranteed.
