Name: "My Little Bear" by artist C. Peterson.

Size:    About 2.75 inches tall.

Date Created:     1988.    A sweet unique small teddy bear.
                             Hand Made in the USA ~ One-of-a-Kind ~ OOAK.

       -- This bear has traveled around the world. Slightly loved along the way.
            It is stored in our cabinet, it is from the artist's collection.

About:    Here is a wonderful little bear who I've cherished for years. I used to take this little bear with me and pin him to my lapel. An early example of my work, and perhaps one of the smallest bears I've ever made.

He measures about 2.25 inches tall or just under 6 cm tall. Completely hand made from ultra-suede. He is signed and dated 12/88 which means he was made December 1988 and his number is no. 618 which means he was the 618th bear I had made up to that point.

I think he is so sweet. All jointed and wearing a pale blue circus ruffle and the pink bow extends so that I could pin him to anything I was wearing. This was a popular thing at teddy bear and doll shows to wear a little miniature bear to show your unity in teddy bear friendship. Of course it was a bit of showing off too.

I made this bear for myself. I can't ever remember making another one like it. I found the fabric and size too difficult to work with, at least for me. I think my favorite thing, other than his size, is the precision of the pattern. He has all the favorite features of an old teddy bear, long limbs, hump back, long shout, etc. On his back is my signature, as well as 'The Roosevelt Bear Co." Its hard to believe he is I made him 20 years ago. I still adore him.

An interesting tid-bit, I traveled all over the world with my bears, and this little sweetheart was one of my traveling companions. He is a world traveler. CP
