Large Antique Signed Robert Shaw Delaware Watercolor Landscape Painting NR

…… Signed in the lower right “R. Shaw” this wonderful Landscape Painting just needs to be framed and it’s ready to hang.  Robert Shaw 1859-1912 was a late 19th centur artist from Delaware. Below this description is a nice biography I found on this artist, on the internet.  Measuring 19” by 29” this Watercolor has a New Hampshire White Mountains Painting. The trees have their fall foliage and you can see a mountain range in the distance. There is a repair to this painting, and you will need to search to find it. I have accented with an arrow an 8” long separation that has been repaired from the back, just to the right of the signature. The matt, which is in poor condition, is original and not connected to this watercolor. There are no other damages or repairs and to make sure some eBayer wins this large R. Shaw Watercolor sells I am listing it without any reserve. …… I guarantee 100% that the high bidder will be more than satisfied with the quality, condition and age of this Watercolor, or I will return all their money.

…… I am always looking for quality Art to list on eBay. Please check back every once in a while. You never know what you might find listed without any reserve.

Robert Shaw was a local self-taught artist in Delaware, often described as a modest and unassuming man. Although not well-known today, during his lifetime Shaw and his art were valued by the local public, and his etchings were known nationally.

He drew and painted in meticulous detail the familiar sights of Delaware, and his works were found in homes, schools, and professional offices. Historians today are grateful for Shaw's accurate renderings, turning to them for pictorial evidence of places and buildings which have either changed or are no longer in existence. However, there is little documentation of Shaw's life and work.

An Historical Society of Delaware publication, "Delaware History", Fall/Winter 1990 issue has a descriptive in-depth article "The Etchings of Robert Shaw" by Thomas Beckman. It includes a listing of all of his etchings with their matching remarks, a very helpful tool." (ASKART)

Rhode Island Internet Consignment & Sales is our Family-run Business in Lincoln RI. Bill Wolstenholme has been a New England Antique Picker for almost 50 years and has a true passion and love for Antiques. We began listing on eBay almost 14 years ago, and have increased in size with each new year. The entire family, as well as a few close friends, are involved in our business.

...... Bill, is "The Boss." He does most of the buying, as well as receiving most of the consignment. He lists the majority of auctions and takes photographs. His passion is what fuels this business and he loves his job, even though he works about 80 hrs a week! He is a true work-a-holic!

..... Lindsey, Bill's second oldest daughter, is "Sergeant-at-Arms." Lindsey goes to two auctions a week to buy items. She also is the head photographer and she lists auctions as well.

... Lisa, or Yaya, is Bill's youngest daughter, and she is the "Jack-of-all-Trades." She does anything from answering the phone to solving problems as well as photographing and listing auctions.

... The second Lisa working here, who we call “Big Lisa,” work's full-time answering the many, never-ending, E-mails and Shipping quotes. This is a tedious job, but someone's gotta do it!

... Up next is our full-time "Gopher", Richard. He is Lindsey's husband and is a huge help! He drives the truck to storage and pack & ship as well as running miscellaneous errands. He also helps out around the office wherever he is needed from cleaning & fixing items, as well as cleaning the office itself!

... Kyle, or as we call him "the Professor" is our full-time packer who takes great care in making sure each item is properly and safely packed so that it arrives safe and sound at its new home!

... Darlene is our book-keeper who keeps the financial side of the business organized. She is also in charge of the Consignment accounts including entering new items and cutting Consignment checks.

.....The newest members of our team are Sarah, Big Lisa's Daughter and Devin, Darlene's Son. Sarah helps out around the office filing paperwork and printing shipping labels and Devin is in training to become our full-time Photographer. They help take time off of all of Our hands so we can list more auctions.

... Finally, but certainly not least, is Wendy. The Matriarch of the family, Wendy or as the kids call her, "Gida" keeps us all happy! She watches the grandchildren while we work, makes sure we are all fed and happy and has total control over all of the Money that goes in and out of the business!

...... Together, our Family Team is a close-nit Tribe and we wouldn't be able to run this company without each and every Member!
