eBay

Here we have a Matchless G80 500 single ,although ,I have somewhere an official dating certificate from an expert ,which I think identifies it as an AJS Model 18,though I can't find it and can't remember for certain !

I think it is a 1954 model.

Anyhow ,one is much the same as the other .

I have an old tax disc which reads Matchless and shows the registration as seen in the photos.

The bike is for restoration ,but starts well and runs well , although it leaks oil from the exhaust port when running.

Gearbox seems ok.

Easy restoration for an enthusiast ,I bought it in 2010 to restore ,but never found the time i'm afraid.

Come and see for yourself if you like ,my mobile is 07930 996074.

Buyer collects ,cash on collection .

Collect and pay within 7 days please.

I will look for the dating certificate meanwhile and have the relevent application pack from DVLA to register it.

Thanks for looking and good luck .

Advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to end the listing early if sold.

For your information ,I have the frame number ,so you might be able to research the bike if have a mind to .

Frame number A17360.

I can't find the dating certificate ,but I'm pretty certain this is an AJS model 18S with a Matchless tank fitted.

I have no intention to mislead anyone and there are no returns on this auction so please be sure you want the bike if you are bidding as I can't be sure of the exact model we have here.

I'm also pretty sure that ,apart from the badging and livery , an AJS Model 18 tank is the same as a Matchless G80 tank. Both bikes were built by the same conglomerate , AMC,in the same factory ,just badged differently.

If anyone can shed any light on these issues I'll post the information I'm given.

Thanks .

After some very helpful info from a knowlegeable fellow ebayer ,we are 90% sure that this is an AJS Model 18S with a Matchless badged tank and side panels.

Confirmed as early 1954 ,all the correct bits with the possible exception of the rear hub.

Best of luck to all bidders.
