Up for your consideration are 2 low level radioactive marbles of Vaseline glass,a yellow green glass that derives its unique color from uranium.The uranium gives the marbles a wonderful glow-in-the-dark greem color under ultraviolet "blacklight." They are very safe to handle. The radiation coming off these marbles is low ( about twice the average natural background radiation.) Did you know your body puts out a very small amount of radiation (potassium 40 )? From a few inches away radiation is undectectable. My geiger counter measures radioactivity at .04 r/H . You might get a slightly different reading.Great conversational piece. First photo taken with black light as under normal light marbles are a clearish green/yellow color as shown in last photo. Marbles are legal to own per the federal goverment and legal to sell and ship (to a degree.) Limits for mailings are set at 0.5 mR/hr at the package surface. Marbles are in compliance with Sec 13 from Part 40 of the NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) rules and regulations and postal and service regulations in 49 CFR 173.421 for low level radioactive materials.These rules can change but as of now they are legal.
