Signed to upper title page "Jane Duddley" (see pictures), obviously no way of knowing if genuine, but looks similar to a signature in her prayer book after her execution, the swirls underneath the "e" in Jane and "y" look the same, ink appears to be from the period, small pencil note of Lady Jane Grey Born 1537 Died 1554 opposite title page and small pasted on clipping noting signature to inner cover of Jane Duddeley, up close the second "e" looks more like a swirl as its different than the final "e"; Also a small doodle attached to the tops of the "d's", maybe spells out queen or grey; Just seems to unusual to be a fake, unless another owner of the same name.  Also first ten pages have written numbers down the margins, maybe by her as well; and purchased from the U.K.

Only a handful of her signatures I have found to be in existence, all at Museums!!!

Summary:

The Iliad (sometimes referred to as the Song of Ilion or Song of Ilium) is an ancient Greek epic poem in dactylic hexameter, traditionally attributed to Homer. Set during the Trojan War, the ten-year siege of the city of Troy (Ilium) by a coalition of Greek states, it tells of the battles and events during the weeks of a quarrel between King Agamemnon and the warrior Achilles.

Although the story covers only a few weeks in the final year of the war, the Iliad mentions or alludes to many of the Greek legends about the siege; the earlier events, such as the gathering of warriors for the siege, the cause of the war, and related concerns tend to appear near the beginning. Then the epic narrative takes up events prophesied for the future, such as Achilles' looming death and the sack of Troy, prefigured and alluded to more and more vividly, so that when it reaches an end, the poem has told a more or less complete tale of the Trojan War.

Background:

Homer is the traditionally-credited creator of the Iliad and the Odyssey, revered as the greatest of Greek epic poets. These epics lie at the beginning of the Western canon of literature and have had an enormous influence on the history of literature.

Adrianus Turnebus (French: Adrien Turnèbe or Tournebeuf; 1512 – 12 June 1565) was a French classical scholar.

Lady Jane Grey (1536/1537 – 12 February 1554(1554-02-12)), also known as Lady Jane Dudley or The Nine Day Queen, was an English noblewoman and de facto monarch of England from 10 July until 19 July 1553.  Lady Jane Grey had an excellent humanist education and a reputation as one of the most learned young women of her day. A committed Protestant, she was posthumously regarded as not only a political victim but also a martyr.

On the morning of 12 February 1554, the authorities took Guildford from his rooms at the Tower of London to the public execution place at Tower Hill, where he was beheaded. A horse and cart brought his remains back to the Tower, past the rooms where Jane was staying. Seeing her husband's corpse return, Jane is reported to have exclaimed: "Oh, Guildford, Guildford." She was then taken out to Tower Green, inside the Tower, to be beheaded.
