Complete System - Complete system includes tank, riser tube, control head, media, and bypass valve. System is shipped in separate boxes to save on shipping costs and make placing the system easier. (Systems can be loaded upon request, contact us for shipping & handling costs on pre-loaded systems).
Fleck 2510 Control - This system uses the automatic Fleck 2510 control for low cost, effective filtration. This head automatically backwashes the system, pushing water through the system in reverse, lifting and cleaning the media. Made by Fleck, the #1 manufacturer of control heads in the US and backed by a 5 year warranty! Due to the general difficulty in backwashing iron filters, we use the Fleck 2510 instead of the Fleck 5600 seen on some systems, because it offers a stronger backwash¹ than the Fleck 5600.
1" Bypass Valve - The included stainless steel bypass valve allows for easy connection of the system and provides a quick and easy means to bypass the system and disconnect the system without needing to cut your plumbing.
Structural USA Tank - Durable polyglass tank is made by one of the most popular manufacturer of tanks and comes with a 10 year warranty.
Birm® Media - The Birm® media is what does all the work. Using the dissolved oxygen in the water it oxidizes the iron and manganese, which is then easily trapped by the media. Every few days the system backwashes itself to clean off the trapped contaminates, rinsing them down the drain and allowing it to continue working. |
Common symptoms of iron, sulfur, & manganese
Iron is a common problem in homes today. It causes red staining on fixtures, as well as turning clothes and sometimes even your hair a reddish orange color. Iron bacteria is sometimes present in water with iron, creating a slimy build up in standing water (such as your toilet tank) and can smell like rotting vegetation.
Manganese is most often seen as a black slimy substance that builds in standing water, and may impart a metallic taste to the water.
