HIPSHOT DELUXE B & G STRING BENDER + DROP-D TOGGLE

Classic Clarence White-style country and pedal steel licks, without invasive modification to your guitar

While a member of the Byrds the late, great Clarence White and Byrds drummer Gene Parsons developed the Parsons/White Stringbender. This unique and innovative strap-activated device was installed inside Telecaster style guitars, and through a series of springs and levers accurately raised the pitch of the B-string by exactly 1 tone, allowing the player to produce convincing pedal steel bends. The disadvantage was the expensive and complicated instalation procedure, which involved very large cavities to be routed into the guitar body for the complicated lever system. Plus the system could only be installed into Telecaster-style guitars.

With the Hipshot StringBender you can acheive these classic sounds on ANY flat-top electric guitar with a fixed bridge. Instalation takes a matter of minutes and no modification or special tools are required. The Hipshot mechanism simply attaches to the guitar using the existing strap-button screw-hole. Once installed the B-bender is activated by the Hip-bar, which involves a very slight movement of the player's hip. With a little practice it is easy to control the speed of the bend. Tuning is achieved with a fine-tuning thumb-wheel on the fulcrum arm.

This Deluxe version adds a G-string palm lever for even more possibilities. The palm lever would normally be tuned for a half-tone raise, though other intervals are possible and useful. In addition the 6th string features a toggle lever allowing an instant and acurate drop and return between E and D. Full installation instructions are included

The picture shows the Hipshot Deluxe installed on an Ovation Viper. Installation is possible on any solidbody guitar with a non-carved, flat-top and a fixed, non-tremolo bridge.
