Lunchbox Collecting has been a passion and our hobby for the last 8 years. During that time we have bought, sold or collected over 20,000 lunchboxes and thermoses. It all started 8 years ago when my wife was going to retire and help our daughter with our first grandson. We were looking for something she could do at home to make a little money and I needed a hobby. We answered an E-bay ad where someone was selling a vintage lunchbox and toy collection (60,000+ items). We made a deal, loaded a 53’ Semi full and shipped to Texas. There were around 5,600 lunchboxes. There were metal, vinyl, plastic & even some cardboard ones. Little did I know at that time that I had bought the remaining inventory of the godfather of lunchboxes (Larry Aikens)? Nor did I realize the adventures ahead. We knew nothing about lunchboxes, bought a few guides, and contacted a few collectors that were on a list I was given by the seller and the rest is history. We have traveled the country buying collections, spent many hours digging through attics, basements, barns, garages, storage units and homes packing up lunchboxes and driving 1000’s of miles in a U-haul truck to bring back to our airport hanger to sort, upgrade our collection first, and sell any duplicates we had left. We don’t have the largest collection (Fred) or the best mint one (Joe) but we do have one of the best in the country.

A collection is something you should take care of, enjoy and pass on to the next generation or two. If not for earlier generations I would not have 50+ year old boxes that are mint to enjoy myself. We have decided to sell a portion of our collection and some special extra’s we have been holding back to help the awareness and give back to this hobby. We have some boxes that are very rare R 9-10. Mint 50s-60s boxes that don’t come up that often to sprinkle back out in to the market place. We will be selling 225 boxes over the next several weeks. I know we already have 2000+ items listed so to make things easier when searching each box listed will start in the title Where’s TOPPIE then the description. There could be a Toppie or two come up for sale so keep watching. We are not getting out of the hobby but want to scale back and slow down a little.
