This beautiful 1st quality hand carved block Meerschaum was made especially for the Astley shop in Jermyn Street in 1969, by the Austrian master carver, Andreas Bauer studios. This pipe is part of the Meerschaum collection Mr Bentley had in his shop to continue the old tradition of selling antique Meerschaum pipes from all over the world. This pipe is an absolute work of art. The case for the pipe was specially commissioned by Mr Bentley. This pipe is fitted with its original hand cut Amberine mouthpiece, by Colin Fromm, and fits into the shank with a screw. The pipe was also fitted with a solid silver band made by Les Wood stamped L & J S 925. This pipe has been put together by the finest in their field. It retailed for £500.00 in the shop so would be a great opportunity to acquire one of the remaining pipes by one of the great Meerschaum master carvers at literally their cost price.
