A Fabulous Victorian Pine Welsh Dresser in Original Paint
This amazing Welsh dresser stood in our cottage kitchen for 17 years and now we have moved we no longer have a place for it so it is sadly for sale.
A rare find as it still retains it's original paint (plate rack backboards have been overpainted at some stage although this has been done well and sympathetically)
It is Victorian in age, dating c1860 and made from solid pine.
The plate rack top has all but one of the original cup hooks and sits atop a base that has 3 drawers between 2 shelved cupboards. The drawers have the original screw in hardwood knobs but unfortunately the cupboard doors have lost their locks and latches and have later knobs.
It is extremely well used and loved and this is evident in it's condition ~ we have happily used it as it is but it would possibly benefit from sympathetic renovation if it is a little too 'characterful' for you. That said you cannot possibly recreate the genuine wear, distressing and patination that has occurred over 150 years!
All in all a lovely and genuine antique piece for lovers of country vintage furniture.
I still have the receipt from when we purchased it for £1975 in 1997!

7ft / 213cm high
5ft 2.5" /159cm wide
17.5" / 45cm deep
The plate rack top does lift off the base for moving and is secured with screws.
