Description:

A lovely vintage Venetian Millefiori glass beads necklace. The beads are black with multi-colored floral canes, on knotted red thread with fancy bead caps. The largest bead is at the center with two slightly smaller beads on either side. The smallest beads are about 8mm in size. The effect is very unique and colorful, and sure to be admired whenever you wear this necklace!

About Millefiori Beads: Millefiori means "thousand flowers" in Italian and describes the lovely flowers made from glass canes or rods. These flowers are hand made and unique - no two are exactly alike. The resulting flowers can then be incorporated into beautiful designs for glassware, such as jars and plates, and for jewelry, such as pendants and beads for necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings. Vintage millefiori jewelry can be distinguished from more modern mass-produced pieces based on the characteristics of the beads, which are slightly irregular in shape and surface, and findings used, such as hand knotting, vintage bead caps, and clasps.
