LARGE TEMPLE YANTRA TEMPLE SAK YANT TATTOO WISHING CLOTH. PHA YANT from the Wat Bang Phra Temple, Nakhon Chai Si, Nakhon Pathom Thailand. The Wat Bang Phra temple is very well known all over the world for the daily tattoos or Sak Yants given by the monks that live there. Every year they have a tattoo
festival which is held on the temple grounds in March. The power
of any amulet or tattoo decreases with time, so to re-empower tattoos
each year, Sak Yant masters celebrate with their disciples the Wai Khru
(Wai Khru meaning to pay homage to one's teacher). On this day devotees
gather in the parlours of their Sak Yant masters to honor them and get
their tattoos blessed and re-empowered. Upon entering the Temple one of the first things a person sees on the wall is a very large banner of tattoos available. This banner is very similar to this Pha Yant 'Temple wishing cloth'. Unless there is a specific choice requested, the monk will begin with a simple tattoo at the top of the back. The word Ruesi is derived from the Sanskrit word Rishi and they were around in the pre Buddha times, perhaps 3 – 4,000 years ago. They lived in the deep forests in what is now known as Nepal and India. Separated from society and free of the attachments and distractions normal life brings, the Ruesi developed strong spiritual powers, often meditating for weeks at a time. Their role was similar to that of a sage / hermit. They made potions from plants and roots, healing the people when they came across sickness. They wandered from place to place instructing the people as they went. A Ruesi is a heritage that is handed down from father to son.
An eremite (hermit) Buddhist monk leads a totally solitary life. The eremite monk renounces all worldly concerns and pleasures in order to pursue his religious and spiritual goals. The eremite monk seeks total solitude and spends his time in prayer, meditation and contemplation without the distractions of any contact with human society or the need for any standard of normal cleanliness or dress. This way of living was not to abandon or stay away from the normal enjoyment of life but it was recognition that spiritual and religious goals would be impeded by the indulgence of normal living.
The legend of highly developed beings has been told in different mythologies and cultures around the world. In Thailand there are also various legends of “Pu Wised”, or Lersi , Arahants or Yogis. These Lersi are said to have possessed various powers, such as knowledge of herbal medicines, minerals, magical invocations, and supernatural abilities such as levitation, teleportation, alchemy, and mind reading. These beings with special powers are reputed to have lived recluse lives in the forest, on mountains, or in caves; practicing meditative skills and mental development using secret methods passed on from mouth to ear by their forefathers.

LARGE PHRA PHROM 'THE FOUR FACED BUDDHA' Phra Phrom is the Thai representation of the Hindu god Brahma, who is regarded in Thai culture as a deity of good fortune and protection. Outside of Thailand Phra Phrom is known as the ‘Four faced Buddha’. The four faces represent health, relationship, wealth and protection against evil. The four faces of Brahma also represent the four Vedas. They also symbolise the functioning of the inner personality (antahkarana) which consists of thoughts. They are the mind (manas), the intellect (buddhi), ego (ahamkara) and conditioned-consciousness (chitta). They represent the four ways in which thoughts function. They are the manifestations of the unmanifest consciousness. The significance of the 4 faced God from the Thai perspective is that the Great Brahma is able offer help to the people who cry to him from all directions, granting wishes to those who ask. It is widely thought that Phra Phrom offers protection from danger and prosperity in business. " Brahmana is an early Hindu religion dating back some 5,000 years. This religion is mainly symbolised by a trinity of Gods. Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver and Shiva the destroyer. It is believed that this Brahmanical triad combined their powers to create the Buddhist world. Worshipers of Phra Phrom usually offer incense, candles, jasmine flowers or jasmine garlands and young coconut milk (with water in them) in their worship, usually placing these offerings before all four heads of Phra Phrom, each head representing a different aspect of the deity. It is believed each side of Phra Phrom offers different blessings. Another common way of worship is to place wooden elephant statues on the altar to honour him. Phra Phrom is also known to admire Thai classical music, which is played near large scale outdoor altars, accompanied by dancers. Worshipers of Phra Phrom are also usually advised to abstain from consuming meat. It is also believed that worshipers have to make good on any promises made to the deity as otherwise misfortune will befall them instead of the fortune that was asked for. GOOD FORTUNE: comes about when the energies of your body and mind click together. This is not just about the creation of wealth: good fortune is the experience when you know deep inside you that everything is right with the world. It is when you and the divine enjoy each others company. Good fortune is a natural state of mind that is part of who you are. It is inside you, just wanting to be released. Start by asking for it. Be humble and receive. If you seek good fortune unskillfully- in other words, selfishly- you will create obstructions. Good fortune never ever comes in a way that you expect it, so open your heart for a happy surprise. You keep your good fortune by sharing it and learning from it, not by showing it off. Use your good fortune by showing other people how to access it, based on your own experience.
At times, you can change your circumstances only by embracing the spiritual within you. To heal someone, you must first know why people suffer. If through healing them, you can show them how to stop suffering, you have fulfilled your role as a physician. At the heart of all suffering there is a spiritual remedy that comes about from knowing the relationships between karma and suffering. Karma comes from the chaos that exists within all living creatures, all aspects of this world and the universe at large. Some chaos is good, some indifferent, some bad, but it is the stuff from which happiness and then enlightenment can be made.

Thinking is a skill that leads to self knowledge. Self Knowledge is wisdom. Thought and Sound: Our thoughts are our individual distillation of the sounds of the world and the universe-- of mankind, nature, of life living itself. These sounds fill the broad spectrum of life and find their expression in human thought, which then leads to creativity and endeavor. Sound and Light: According to ancient Tibetan beliefs, sound is made up of light. Light both physical and spiritual, is the essence of the construction of any sound.
