Author Kate Ellis is offering fans a great opportunity, to appear as a named character in their forthcoming novel, provisionally titles THE MECHANICAL DEVIL. The book is due for publication in February, 2018.

About the book
Two strangers with no connection to each other are found shot dead in a field on Dartmoor. In the meantime a strange coffin is found at a nearby medieval church, a coffin that contains an automaton dating from the reign of Henry VIII.
About the author
Kate Ellis was born and brought up in Liverpool and studied drama in Manchester. She is married with two grown up sons and she first enjoyed literary success as winner of the 1990 North West Playwrights’ Competition in Manchester.
Her books reflect her keen interest in history and archaeology and, as well as many short stories, she has published five crime novels set in York and a stand alone historical crime novel, The Devil’s Priest. However, she is best known for her Devon-based crime series featuring black archaeology graduate DI Wesley Peterson, the latest of which is The Mermaid’s Scream. She is also the author of A High Mortality of Doves, the first novel in a trilogy set in the aftermath of the First World War.
