This Auction is for a New Chrome Steel Road Bike Head Set 22.2mm x 30mm x 27mm. This is our go to Headset for Lugged Road Bike and Single Speed Fixie Conversions and our Lux Low 1" Threaded Forks. This Headset is a New Import that offers Good Look and Performance for a Budget price. Please fully read for Compatibility and Accuracy, So we can get you on the road faster. This Head Set works with 1" threaded forks. The Cups fit a Vintage Lugged Road Bike Frames Head Tube that has a 30 mm or 1 3/16" opening "also AKA Cup Diameter. 30mm Head tube is Very Common, Fits Most Vintage Lugged Road bikes from the 1960s up to the 1990s. DOES NOT work with Some Early Raleigh Bikes that had loose ball bearings and Some French Bikes. Early French Bikes tend to have there own threading making you need a French Headset, Typically if you get a new common threaded 1" Threaded Fork ( Like a Lux Low Fixie Road Fork) and one of these headsets, they can be installed to your French Bike and you no longer need to search for French Gear. In rare cases some old bikes may of seen too much excessive use and the head tube is stretched, making the cups a loose fit, in that event a shim may be needed for a tight fit. The top Nut has a 22.2mm or 7/8" opening for stems of that size ( the fork must also have the 22.2mm or 7/8" opening for the stem to work) 22.2mm or 7/8" is the larger of the 2 sizes, it is very common, only a hand full of Vintage Road Bikes used the smaller Size. The bearings are 16 x 5/32" ball retainers. HS has a Threaded Lock Washer. The Bottom Race fits Vintage and Newer forks with a 27mm or 1 1/16" race lip. Unfortunately the Fork Race can tend to vary in diameter on Vintage Road Bikes. It is Strongly suggested that you use the headset in its Entirety for Optimum Performance, should you use your original race, It helps to assemble dry to check for free movement and correct bearing installation before you grease and install. In some cases a Shim May help install this race to an odd size fork. This Auction is for 1 headset of the Color and Size listed in the Title.
