Swedish Hasselback Potato Cutting Board

These Swedish baked potato fans were popularized as the namesake dish of the restaurant at the Hasselbacken Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden.  Though they look like a very fancy side dish, they are actually easy to make and preperation is made even easier with the ScanWood Potato Board!  Definitely a unique way to serve potatoes. Crispy on the outside and smooth on the inside!

These baked potato fans were popularized as the namesake dish of the restaurant at the Hasselbacken Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden.  This baked potato has a wonderful seasoned crispy crust which goes well with roasts and baked fish. This looks like a very fancy side dish, but is actually easy to do.  In the oven the potato fans out slightly and leaves a crunchy texture all over its surface, which is quite unique. 

The Scanwood Hasselback Swedish Potato Board is constructed of solid Beechwood which is both hard and durable while also being light weight.  The potato board helps create a dish that is perfect if you want to add a little flair to your presentation without the hassle of actually working very hard.  The perfect addition to any kitchen.  The ScanWood Potato board is both elegant in design and wonderful to use!  Beech Wood Series is available in an entire range of utensils.

Directions:

  1. Place any size potato (raw and peeled) onto the potato board.
  2. Cut 1/4" slices, as shown on the included backer card, down to the edge of the potato board.
  3. Place the sliced potatoes into an oven safe tray and sprinkle with salt & pepper.
  4. Then brush the potatoes with melted butter.
  5. Place potatoes into a 400 degree F / 200 degree C oven and bake for approximately 40 to 60 minutes, depanding on the size of the potatoes.
  6. During the last two minutes turn the boiler on to crisp the surface of the potatoes.
  7. Enjoy crispy on the outside and smooth on the inside Hasselback Potatoes!
