Details:The Flintstones, produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions, is an animated, prime-time American television sitcom that ran from September, 1960 to April, 1966. The series features a working-class Stone-Age man’s life with his family and his next-door neighbor and best friend- Barney Rubble. Director Bill Hanna admitted that, “at the time, The Honeymooners was the most popular and funniest show on the air…. now, that greatly influenced what we did with The Flintstones.” Of note- the voice for Barney Rubble was provided by none other than Mel Blanc, and a great trivia question is: prior to changing it’s name to The Flintstones, the name was set to be The GladStones.
