Description This is a really stunning Easter greeting postcard. It could have been sent by US mail with just an address on the back, however this type of card was often sent in an envelope, to keep the wonderful silk insert from being damaged. It is unused, and in remarkable condition, with no creases or damage, just a bit of browning on the back. The card is a silver background featuring wonderful white magnolias, with the most beautiful lithograph cross and flowers on cream silk paste-down, and a gilt edge. The area where the silk has been pasted down is embossed, to give a slight padded effect to the cross. The card just says "Welcome Easter Morning". The card says it was printed in Germany on the back, and it dates to around 1910 - definitely before WWI. It is a beautiful card that would be wonderful framed, or to use as part of an Easter display. It is a really rare card, especially in this condition. I hate adding more garbage to the environment; if you receive a box from me that has been used before, I am "recycling". I will make sure it's sturdy and the item well packaged. I will ensure your item will arrive in good condition, but the box may not be pretty (or it might be - I have to buy boxes, as well). All shipping within the US is free to you. All my packages are tracked, but if for some reason you don't receive your item or it arrives broken, I will refund your money.
