Beautifully
made, much more compact than the standard weights, giving more weight
range. It's a little fiddly to get the position exactly right (as
opposed to rotating the standard counterweight) but once there it locks
in position with the grub screw, so there is zero chance of drift or
accidental movement. A great improvement on my modified Pro-Ject RPM5,

The design of XTC places its lowered Centre of Gravity closer to the plane of the stylus than other "dropped" counterweights can manage.
The rotational forces have less vector variation which improves tracking.
XTC is available for a number of arms, and has consistently had positive effects.
The counterweight itself is lacquered brass, with a delrin collar and stainless steel set screw.
Even though the original counterweight on the Pro-ject arms is dropped, it still sits over 7mm ABOVE the stylus plane.
Factor in the mass of the arm and headshell, and the arm's CG is now 9mm ABOVE the stylus plane.
Conclusion: a so-called "dropped" counterweight has to be significantly lower.
These arms have benefitted from XTC: Alphason, Audiocraft, Funk Firm F.XR, Hadcock, JMW, Mission, Origin Live,
Pro-ject, Rega, Roksan, Hadcock, JMW, Linn, SME 3009 and Well Tempered.

My brother Tim recently bought your counterweight for his new Funk FXR11 tonearm to which I had the pleasure of
an evening with hooked up to my modified Rega 300 bolted to a hot rodded Audionote TT2. Suffice to say my

Tried out the counterweight last night. Amazing improvement over the stock CW in every way. Most noticeably, as they say
so often, a veil is lifted. Everything is less tentative. Bass coming through more solid, percussions have the final "ring" of
the real things, more depth and soundstage anchored more accurately. These are all preliminary impressions after a few hours
of listening. I have no hesitation recommending your CW to Hadcock owners if these prelim impressions hold up & I think
