The original painting is painted on 640 gsm watercolour paper. using hand cut stencils the white paper is masked and then the darker parts are painted with inks and spray paints. when the masking is removed the halftone image appears.

The halftone images are quite amazing, when you look at them up close, you only see a bunch of lines, the further away you get from the piece the image starts to take shape and eventually will look like a photograph.
