Did you break the retainer that holds down the fuel lines?

Without this part, the pressure generated by the pump can blow the fuel line right off the assembly resulting in an engine starved for fuel.

It can also cause a fire if the fuel gets on the exhaust.

Why buy a replacement pump when all you need is a retainer?  Some are yellow.  Some are white.

It doesn’t make any difference.
