The original alternator has only 65 amp capability.

The Load Boss Performance Alternator Provides: 

Output Rated @ 70-75 amps at 800 rpm and 170 amps at 1200 rpm.

1988-1991 Honda Civic with 1.5,1.6L

This 170 amp capability alternator will allow you to run your stereo amplifier and still keep your battery maintained. Requires no bracket system alteration, falls right in place without any wiring harness modification.
