Geo-Fabric is a permeable fabric which, when used in association with soil, has the ability to separate, filter, reinforce, protect or drain. Geo-Fabric is used to retain granular soil and allow water to pass through or channel it down and away from an area without causing a lot of erosion. This can be a great help during construction when there is a lot of ground disturbance and minimal erosion is desired.
It can also be installed permanently to help get rid of excess rainwater or ground water in landscaping situations around drainage pipes and drains. Geo-Fabric is also commonly used behind retaining walls to filter the water before it passes through the wall and therefore being less likely to stain the wall/paint due to it being cleaner water going through the fabric.
