Recycled Silk yarn is the most unique yarn in the planet. Recycled silk yarn is made from recycled silk, more specifically the waste silk fiber from industrial weaving mills in India  and hand-spun in Nepal, giving women there a way to work and earn money. Using their traditional skills they can create vibrant, textured yarn in a beautiful complex array of color ways. So often called Himalaya or Himalayan Yarn, Nepalese Yarn, Kathmandu Yarn, Rungy Chungy Yarn, Tibetan Yarn.

The Silk thread (called fibers) are separated or sorted, hand teased, and finally hand spin on a CHARKA or DROP SPINDLE.

Each Recycled Silk skein is handspun, varies in its color, gauge, twist and texture ,creating natural inconsistencies and  gives a charming, unique, envious and gorgeous glaze to a project no matter how simple and small in design.

The yarn is suitable for knitting, weaving, crocheting, decorative tassels, couching on to patchwork, and other needle applications.
