PLEASE NOTE XTC is bulkier and wider than the original counterweight,and may touch the bias arm and the tall acorn nut nut which secures it in the forward position.
This may occur if your arm is at its lowest height and orientation of the mounting plate.
THE DESIGN of XTC places its lowered Centre of Gravity closer to that of the stylus tip, depending on your cartridge height.
This better matches the rotational forces imposed on the cartridge which should improve tracking.
Other dropped counterweights may manage to lower CG by up to 10mm.
Factor in the other masses, and overall CG reduces this to ~7mm which is some distance ABOVE the stylus.
XTC lowers CG by up to 16mm.
