Set of 6 quality coasters by Pimpernel, the premier brand for placemats and coasters, featuring the classic Morris & Co. Strawberry Thief design in a red colourway.

These coasters use a 5 mm board topped with the Strawberry Thief print sealed under a high quality coating that is stain and heat resistant to 100 degrees Celsius. The coaster is then finished with a hard wearing cork back that protects furniture.

Measures 4" x 4" and comes in a set of 6.

Strawberry Thief was designed by William Morris in 1883 with birds drawn by his architect friend Philip Webb. Strawberry Thief was inspired by the Morris family efforts to grow strawberries at their home Kelmscott Manor in the Cotswolds. The family were thwarted by thrushes who would creep under the netting and eat the fruit. Morris insisted that the birds be left undisturbed.
