GUIDE TO EACH LISTING.

THE SUIT.
Will it be what i expect?
Will it fit?
These are the two question i want to answer in each listing in the most clear and simple way possible.
Almost all the information you need is in the TITLE and THE PICTURE GALLERY.
The second IMAGE in the gallery has the CONDITION and all the MEASUREMENTS.
Including how much you can ALTER the TROUSERS on the WAIST and LEG.
Any DAMAGE is mentioned in the second image and expanded on in ITEM SPECIFICS just below the gallery.
PHOTOS with RED cirles highlight any issues. They can be used to show the tailor in order to get a quote
or second opinion.
THE FIT.
This is the hardest part. It's worth spending some time on. Once you know your measurements, unless there's any change in diet, that's it they don't change too much. The time it takes is worth it.
THE PRICE.
My prices are very good value. They are set to keep sales moving and the business running. You could do better shopping at charity shop, some of them anyway. This is a very hit and miss alternative. Part of what you are paying for are the measurements, the photos and the quality, I pick the best from hunderds. The new version of many listing can range from £2000 to £200. Many of the suits could be in a London boutique for five times the price. I source from the same places they do.
Often there is a sale or promotion on. It's very hard to spend money badly here.
HOW I MEASURE A SUIT.
BELOW IS AN EXAMPLE. IT'S NOT THE SUIT YOU'RE LOOKING AT
The title description provides CHEST, WAIST AND LEG. Good but not enough. Two thirds of a movie.
The second photo in the gallery provides the rest. Often the difference between having to return something or not.
From here the best way forward would be to get a suit that fits (or nearly fits you) and measure it using the same methods as me (and most other ebay sellers). From there you can determine what measurements you require from a suit.
Methods is use to measure.
Photos used are of an EXAMPLE SUIT, not the one in the listing.
Lay the Jacket front facing.
The tape measures the cloth pressed flat but not stretched.

COMMON QUESTIONS CUSTOMERS HAVE.
The ARMPIT measurement may cause confusion. The ARMPIT to ARMPIT in the example above is 21 inches.
This does not mean the CHEST is a 42.
The chest measurement is usually taken a couple of inches below the ARMPIT line.
It would typically be an inch shorter (in this case 20 inches).
To calculate the CHEST this number is doubled then 2 inches are subtracted.
A 21 ARMPIT usually means a 38 CHEST. 20 doubled is 40, take 2 leaves 38.
The chart below may be a useful reference;
ARMPIT to ARMPIT | CHEST |
20 | 36 |
21 | 38 |
22 | 40 |
23 | 42 |
24 | 44 |
25 | 44 |
26 | 48 |

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS & SAME DAY POSTING
VINTAGE SUITS.
One thing the British still do well is make suits. The golden years for the modern suit are gone, unlikely to return but the art of tailoring & cloth making still survive.PAYMENT.
Most people use paypal without any issue. Happy to accept cheques.
If you want to pay by card and don't have a paypal address that's fine. I'll need an email address to which i will send you an invoice from paypal. You pay via their services for a nominal fee. It's straightforward.
ANY OTHER QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK.
