What's in it?

The oldest historical text that mentions the use of Valerian dates back to 460 BCE where its properties were associated with cooking and occult spells related to love magic. It was used medicinally by Arab physicians who heard about the herb through the works of the ancient Greek physicians Hippocrates and Dioscorides. It has a history of use as a spice, with Anglo Saxon recipes found to contain Valerian as an ingredient in salads and stews.

Valerian is well known for its sedative qualities and its ability to relax the central nervous system. One of the earliest traditional uses of valerian root was to treat insomnia, this continues today with many over the counter sleep aids containing this root.

How do I take it?

The botanical ingredients can be made into a herbal tea, decocting the herb by immersing in boiling water over a low heat for 10 minutes, this extracts the phyto-chemicals from the bark, root, plant matter. Use 2 cups of boiling water per person.

Serving: 1-2 teaspoons per cup of boiling hot water of cut herb root to be drunk when needed.

• The Yodel & Royal Mail First Class delivery service aims to deliver the next day, (however this is not guaranteed so in some cases can take a little longer.)

• If we cannot keep our customer promise to you, we will email you to let you know with an estimated real-time dispatch time, just to keep you in the picture.

The Royal mail estimate these delivery times:

Western Europe within 3 working days, Eastern Europe within five working days, Rest of World within seven working days. (However this is not guaranteed)

WHAT TO DO IF MY PARCEL IS DELAYED

We can track & Trace your parcel if it is being delivered by either Yodel or the Royal Mail Expedited Service. If for whatever reason they have tried to deliver but could not , you can arrange for them to re-deliver the next day.

However if your parcel does get lost in the post we offer a full guarantee that we will send your order out to you again. We normally give a period of time until we call the parcel lost, as in many cases it has been held up and is delivered late. For the UK, we wait 15 working days, for over-seas we wait 20 working days and then if you goods have still not arrived we will send them again.

If you wish to cancel your purchase, under the distance selling regulations you have a period of seven working days from receiving your goods to do so. However at Indigo Herbs we extend that period to 30 working days. Please return the unopened products with a note of your order number and reason for cancellation. When we receive the returned goods we will refund you via paypal for the sale price of the purchase. (Not including additional postage costs).

If you are not satisfied with your products, please get in touch and we will arrange to send a replacement product or arrange a refund (if the product is unopened).All postage and package costs remain the responsibility of the customer, unless we delivered an item to you in error, or the item is damaged or faulty.
