This auction is for a New Raw / Plain Steel 3/8" Set Screw with a 3/8" Square Head and is 5/8" long ( measured under the head ) with 16 tpi Coarse thread. The Screw is Raw or Plain Hardened Alloy Steel, It comes oily and have some rust protection, once the oils gone they can rust, thus making this our top choice for Rat Rod Cruisers and Patina Bikes. The idea is New Nuts that are mechanically sound and will look old. This Set Screw works with late style antique single rail saddle clamp that utilizes the square nut, May work with early types that don't use the square nut, but I have found that those have threading all over the place and only works in some cases. The Clamps were used on Antique Saddles from the TOC ( Turn of the Century ) through the Wood Wheel safety era on brands like: Troxel, Persons, Mesinger, Sager, Hunt, etc. This Set Screw may of been used on Vintage Tricycles and other items that require 3/8" x 16 tpi set screws.
