Being offered for sale: AN ORIGINAL 1863 PEEKSKILL NY BANK $2 LAZY DEUCE NOTE from the period. One person thinks that this is a counterfeit, its not. I purchased this from a reputable auctioneer that deals with coins and paper money. He wouldn't sell something as being authentic if it wasn't. I also spoke to E bay about this and they are in agreement with me. I'm no expert at grading notes but based on other similar quality notes, I would put this as being in "good" condition. There are some tears in the note & a small hole in the center. The tears are visible along the center fold & left side of front on edge and bottom on front edge. The tears on the edges are slight. The hole can be seen in the center & clearly when you enlarge the photos. Otherwise the note is intact and the paper is fairly strong considering the age. The images are still quite distinct & the printing is legible. THE NOTE YOU SEE IN THE PHOTOS IS THE NOTE YOU WILL RECIEVE.
