Biography: Walter Sorge was born in Alberta in 1931, and later moved to California where he attended UCLA, graduating with a degree in art in 1954. He is the winner of two Canada Council Scholarships and pursued further studies at Columbia University in New York and at the studio of Stanley William Hayter (1901-1988) in Paris.
