'SECONDS' Natural Wood Log Slice
These log slices are being sold as 'SECONDS' because in all cases there is either only patches of bark around the edge or no bark at all as the photos show. They may be slightly warped and not sit completely flat on a surface and have cracks or fillers or nails on the slice. However, the natural wooden edge is still very beautiful with variations of the natural woods colour.
These round / oval shaped log slices make the perfect rustic centerpiece for vintage, shabby chic or woodland themed weddings.
Cut from Paulownia / Apollonia trees, they have been smoothed and sanded to give a flat finish. Some have a small hole drilled in the center. This is to absorb any movement in the wood slice to prevent cracking or splitting, but can easily be covered up with your accessories and ornaments that will sit on the top.
The growth rings of the tree show beautifully on the top.
Use as the base for table decorations and the larger two sizes would work well as a cake stand for a small or large wedding cake.
These would also work really well as plate chargers at a dinner party and as a cheese platter.
For best results, they should be stored individually in a dry place and placed on their sides to ensure air flow.
N.B- although we describe these as round, they are not perfect round circles as they are cut from natural tree trunks, which are never perfectly round.

Size of the diameter varies according to the size of the tree they were cut from but are approximately as follows:
Size: Approx: Medium: W24-29cms (9.5"-11.5") x D4cms (1.5")
Large: W29-33cms (11.5"-13") x D4cms (1.5")
Small: W20-24cms (8"-9.5") x D4cms (1.5")
XS: W15-19cms (5.9"-7.5") x D3.5cms (1.4")
The
log slice that will be picked will be anywhere between the specified
size. I'm afraid we cannot be more specific and pick required sizes.
