Explanation about the resolution and brightness：This laptop has a high resolution 1440x900 and a small screen (14"). High-resolution LCD displays more information on the same size screen but all characters are smaller, so that reading may be challenging for eyes with Presbyopia. However, upgrading to Windows 10 will partially solve the resolution problem. Another cost of high resolution is lower brightness. This LCD has about 50% of the brightness of current new LED backlight LCDs.
